FAQ

ipiqi is a tag-based forum. Instead of having designated sections or sub-forums like regular discussion boards, you just submit posts with any tags you want. Nothing is off-topic because anything can be a tag. Watch our video to learn more.
Tags are basically the same as keywords, and are used to label discussions under as many categories or topics as you want. Some examples of tags are general chat, johns hopkins university, iphone, etc. It's a good idea to use both broad and specific tags. The more tags you use the better, since your posts will be seen by other people interested in the same tags.
Pronounced "i-picky," it means you get to be just that. Pick whatever piques your interest, talk with others about it, and then piq whether what they say is useful or not.
Search for whatever piques your interest, or click on popular tags. We'll filter out everything else so that only relevant discussions will show up. Then, once you click on a discussion, you can piq any post as being good or bad. Good posts become green, bad posts turn red.

You yourself can post a discussion about anything, and tag it so the right (interested) people will see it. If you get piqqed up a lot for a certain tag, you will eventually become recognized as an expert for that tag.
You can "piq" something as good or bad by using the green or red buttons on each post. That helps us determine who actually knows what they're talking about, who the experts are, and what posts are worth reading.
We're brand new, so it's likely that some topics aren't being discussed yet. If there are no results for the tag you're interested in, start asking a question or posting information and get the conversation going. The more discussions, the better!
It's FREE! We'll pay for our hosting down the line by putting up an unobtrusive and relevant ad by each thread..
A couple of Baltimore-based JHU grads and a college CompSci professor are behind ipiqi. Paul Capestany is the business guy, Brian Sloane is the front-end developer, and Herve Franceschi is the back-end developer. ipiqi is built on the LAMP stack, and we're actively looking for talented people who love forums who'd be willing to help us out!
